Cognition and Artificial Life 2025

The conference creates a space for presenting the results of the work of experts from the Czech and Slovak Republic interested in various aspects and methods of cognition research, whether in living or artificial systems. The aim of the conference is to stimulate professional discussions, to enable the exchange of knowledge in a pleasant atmosphere as well as to attract the younger generation to this dynamically developing interdisciplinary field of cognition, important for the 21st century.
Contributions from relevant cognitive disciplines are welcome, in particular:
- cognitive psychology
- neuroscience
- machine learning and artificial neural networks
- artificial intelligence and robotics
- philosophy of mind
- linguistics
- cognitive anthropology
- cognitive cartography
- cognitive science and art
The conference languages are Czech, Slovak and English. Papers of 2-8 pages in Czech, Slovak or English will be published in peer-reviewed conference proceedings. Submission of 150-word abstracts until 2 March 2025 on this website.
The conference is all-inclusive - the registration fee includes accommodation for 2 nights, meals (starting with lunch on Wednesday 21 May and ending with lunch on Friday 23 May), banquet, coffee breaks, free access to the swimming pool and fitness centre in the hotel. Doctoral students will have discounted registration fees. The Slovak Society for Cognitive Science offers several scholarships for Master and Bachelor students.
Piešťany is an attractive spa town with good transport accessibility from Slovakia and the Czech Republic. For those who come by car: parking in the monitored hotel car park is charged at 3€/night per car (not included in the registration fee).
