Neurorobotics: 4th Edition

Workshop on cognitive robotics, machine learning, cognitive science, human-robot interaction, and bio-inspired artificial intelligence

at the 35th International Conference on Artificial Neural Networks
ICANN 2026 in Padua, Italy

About the workshop

Neurorobotics combines interdisciplinary research in machine learning, robotics, cognitive science, human-robot interaction, and bio-inspired artificial intelligence. Following the understanding-by-building methodology, Neurorobotics embeds neural models in robot platforms that interact with and learn from complex, multimodal environments, enabling model evaluation and improvement.

In this workshop, we aim to discuss approaches that, on the one hand, make robots more capable in complex, often physical, tasks and, on the other hand, ensure that their behaviour considers the needs of human interaction partners, is explainable, safe, predictable, and robust.

Following three successful Neurorobotics special sessions at ICANN 2023, 2024, and 2025, we are announcing the fourth edition. We aim to bring together researchers with diverse backgrounds and expertise to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across Neurorobotics, cognitive robotics, and human-robot interaction.

Workshop Topics

  • Neural control and learning in robotics
  • Foundation models and generative AI in robotics
  • Sensor fusion, multimodal and active sensing in robots
